The Song that almost didn't happen and
About to Have Your Heart Saying “God... Same” 🔥*
Okay fam, drop whatever you’re doing for 30 seconds. #Ashmademedoit just dropped something, and it’s not just another track. It’s a prayer you can vibe to.
It’s called “Use Me” featuring the powerhouse voice of Sharnay De Oor… and sis, when I say it hits, I mean it hits like 6am worship + coffee + that “Lord I’m ready but also scared” feeling all at once.
So what’s “Use Me” about?
Real talk: it’s not a “look at me” song. It’s a “look at HIM” song.
The whole message is surrender. Not the cute Instagram-quote kind. The messy, honest, “God I don’t have much but it’s Yours” kind. #Ashmademedoit wrote it like he was on his knees with a pen, and Sharnay came in and sang it like she’s been there too.

The part that’ll wreck you.
It was an uphill battle to get this from start to finish. Wow! It felt like the strongholds were amped up passed their maximum. My mic broke... Then the vocals came out full of static. Sharnay and my timetables clashed... The music was full of hiss. I felt I want to give up and throw in the towel. Then we made headway, then again another setback. 2 months into the project, my engineer got sick meaning another week's delay. We then finished the initial recording but it didn't impress me. It felt there was something missing
So we started from scratch and built the entire song again. Every line the way God intended. Like a ccomplete piece of pottery, I allowed myself to be broken up again, made back into clay then reshaped... And this is the outcome. Sharnay had throat challenges, exams and personal challenges... But when we finally got together after all this, we came out more than conquerers. All because we allowed God to USE us, mold us, shape us into something He needed.
The pre-chorus is where it gets personal. Sharnay sings it and you feel it in your chest:
> “All I have is my life to give / My heart and my soul and all within / I know it's not enough / That I owe you more / But God this is all that I have”
Light humor moment: Is it just me or does worship always make you realize your “all” is actually like… a half-used notebook and some faith? 😂 But God takes it anyway. That’s the whole vibe of “Use Me”.
Then the CHORUS. Oh, the chorus. This is the part you’ll be screaming in your car, shower, kitchen, wherever:
> “I need you to take me / I need you to use me / I need you to shape me, mold me, make me / In anything you need (ooh)”
That “hey” adlib? That’s #Ashmademedoit reminding you God isn’t gentle when He’s shaping you. He’s thorough. But it’s love.
And the mic-drop line that’ll sit with you all week:
> “My faith does not rely on my own wisdom / But on Your power”
